I am Evdoxia Renta and I have been working as a translator, reviewer and interpreter for 27 years. I obtained degrees in Translation and Applied Translation Studies in Greece and England, with English and Greek as my working languages, but I have also studied French, German and Turkish.
I have translated numerous books and texts in the fields of psychology, as well as many documents for psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health professionals, psychology professors and pharmaceutical companies, including but not limited to book excerpts, articles, presentations, questionnaires, patient evaluations, clinical studies, protocols and dissertations.
In London, I worked as a medical terminology interpreter at major NHS hospitals, whilst also providing interpretation services to Greek-speaking families facing issues relating to mental and physical health, child abuse/neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, etc.
As a client, I have long experience in psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis, which helped me better understand complex concepts of the discipline and, therefore, be able to provide high-quality translations.
Ι have been a member of the Panhellenic Association of Translators since 2016, having served as Board member, Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Board, and I am also a member of the Hellenic Society for Terminology.

Recently, I edited translated chapters of the forthcoming book PSYCHOLOGY OF HEALTH by Brannon, Updegraff and Feist. The overall translation of the text was satisfactory and faithfully conveyed not only the letter but also the spirit of the authors. The rendering of the specialized health psychology terms was adequate and accurate for the vast majority of terms. The translator's ability to handle specialised terminology and integrate it harmoniously into the overall text is an advantage.
